Managing Disk Space

Each Site Manager account includes 10GB of disk space by default. If additional space is needed, you can purchase upgrades in 10GB increments for $100/year. Proper management of your disk space can help you avoid unnecessary upgrades and keep your site running efficiently.

Accessing Disk Tools

To monitor and manage disk space, navigate to:

Administration → Disk Tools

This section provides two essential tools: Image Optimization and Disk Usage.

1. Image Optimization

This tool helps reduce the space used by high-resolution images.

  • Total Uploaded Images: Shows the total number of images uploaded to your site.

  • Unoptimized Images: Lists images larger than 1600x1600 pixels, which are considered unoptimized.

  • Optimize Option: Allows you to compress or resize images directly, significantly reducing their file size without noticeable quality loss.

Recommendation: Regularly optimize uploaded images or set them to optimize upon upload to maintain a balance between visual quality and storage efficiency.

2. Disk Usage

This report provides a breakdown of how your disk space is being used:

  • Uploaded Files: PDFs, documents, and other non-image media.

  • Uploaded Images: All images uploaded to your media library.

  • Mail: Emails stored on the server (including inbox, sent, and spam).

  • System Files: Core CMS files and logs.

  • Free Space: Remaining available space out of your total quota.

Tip: Use this overview to identify the largest storage categories and areas to clean up.

Recommendations for Reducing Disk Space

To free up space without affecting your website’s functionality:

  • Delete unused mail accounts: Remove old or inactive email accounts that still store data.

  • Purge spam and trash folders: Email spam and deleted items can silently consume large amounts of space.

  • Clean out old media: Remove outdated PDFs, images, or videos that are no longer in use.

  • Archive or download backups: Transfer old backups or large files to your local machine or cloud storage, then delete them from the server.

  • Optimize images: Use the built-in optimization tool to resize and compress unnecessarily large images.

Need More Space?

If your site regularly requires additional storage due to high-resolution media or large documents, you can purchase additional disk space:

  • 10GB Additional Space: $100/year
