Meta tags are a great way for webmasters to provide search engines with information about their sites.
Meta tags may be administered on a global (for all pages) basis or for individual pages.
To adjust your global meta tags, please go to "Administration" -> "Meta Tags". If these fields are left blank, the Site Manager will choose meta tags for you based upon your Profile.
To adjust meta tags for individual pages, please go to "Pages", then "properties" next to the page in question. From this screen you will be able to adjust your keywords and description.
The following is a brief description of the Meta Tag fields:
The "keywords" field is for specifying terms that you think people might type into a search engine. Terms are separated by commas.
The "description" field is for what will be displayed next to your website title in search engine's listing page (where it shows the results of a search).
The "author", "email", and "copyright" fields are self-explanatory. These fields are often left blank.
The "robots", "GoogleBot" tell search engines how to query your website. The default is to query everything, so you may wish to leave these fields blank.
The "Google - verify-v1" and "Google - site-verification" are used together with Google Analytics and other webmaster tools. If you are not using these services, it is best to leave these fields blank.
